  • Heating Assistance Program (HAP)

    Alaska's version of LIHEAP; helps pay heating fuel, gas, or electric costs for low-income households. Apply September–April through the Division of Public Assistance.

  • AHFC Weatherization Program

    Free home improvements (insulation, sealing, heating fixes) that lower your energy bills for good.

  • RurAL CAP Weatherization

    Free weatherization work for low-income households in Anchorage and rural communities to cut heating costs.

Food

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

    Monthly money on an EBT card to buy groceries; Alaska's benefits are higher than the Lower 48. Apply online through the Division of Public Assistance.

  • Food Bank of Alaska

    Supplies food pantries statewide and has a free food-finder plus staff who will help you apply for SNAP. Call 907-272-3663.

  • Alaska WIC

    Free healthy food, formula, and nutrition support for pregnant people, new parents, and kids under 5.
